Frequently asked questions
Is every YAML file convertible to JSON?
Almost. JSON has no comments, anchors or custom tags, so comments are dropped and anchors are expanded into copies.
Can it handle multiple YAML documents?
Yes. Files with several documents separated by --- become a JSON array, one item per document.
Why do 'yes' and 'no' stay as strings?
We follow YAML 1.2, where only true and false are booleans. YAML 1.1 treated yes/no/on/off as booleans too.
