Why does my phone's MAC show no manufacturer?
Modern phones and laptops use randomized “private” MAC addresses on Wi-Fi. They have the locally-administered bit set and aren't registered to anyone.
Where does the data come from?
The IEEE's public MA-L (OUI) registry of about 40,000 manufacturers.
Can a MAC address identify a person?
No — it identifies a network interface's maker, not its owner.
