For general information only — not medical advice. Results are estimates; talk to a doctor or qualified health professional about your own health.

How to use

  2. 2See the daily amount and a per-feed estimate for the typical number of feeds.

How it's calculated

Daily formula ≈ 2.5 oz per pound of body weight (about 150 ml per kg), up to about 32 oz (960 ml) a day. Feeds per day are typical ranges by age.

Frequently asked questions

Should I follow the calculator exactly?

No — follow your baby's hunger and fullness cues. Babies' needs vary day to day.

When does formula intake drop?

After solids are introduced (around 6 months) formula gradually decreases, though it remains the main source of nutrition until 12 months.

Is more than 32 oz a day a problem?

Consistently more than about 32 oz may mean the baby needs a pediatrician check-in, or is ready for solids.
