Frequently asked questions
Why are some years incomplete?
Countries and regions publish their dates at different times — often one or two school years ahead. Dates appear here as soon as they're added to the OpenHolidays open data set.
What about the UK?
UK term dates are set by each local council (and academies can set their own), so there's no national list. Use GOV.UK's school term dates finder for your council.
What does 'some areas only' mean?
The break applies to only part of the region you picked (for example, some districts). Pick a smaller area to see exactly which breaks apply.
Are the dates official?
They come from the OpenHolidays API, which collects them from official ministry and state sources. Always check with your school for in-service days and local extras.
