Net Promoter Score (NPS) Calculator
Calculate your Net Promoter Score from survey responses — counts of promoters, passives and detractors, or a list of 0–10 scores.
How to use
- 1Enter the number of promoters (9–10), passives (7–8) and detractors (0–6) — or paste the raw 0–10 scores.
- 2Read the NPS, which ranges from −100 to +100.
How it's calculated
NPS = % promoters (9–10) − % detractors (0–6). Passives (7–8) count toward the total but not the score.
Frequently asked questions
What's a good NPS?
Above 0 means more promoters than detractors; above 30 is good and above 50 excellent, though benchmarks vary a lot by industry.
Why don't passives count?
They're satisfied but not enthusiastic. They affect the percentages because they're in the total, but they don't add or subtract directly.
How many responses do I need?
With fewer than about 100 responses NPS can swing a lot. Look at trends and comments, not just the number.
