How it's calculated
Commute: round-trip miles × work days × (fuel cost per mile + wear per mile) + parking. Driver net = fares − fuel − wear per mile × miles, per hour worked.

The IRS business rate (70¢ for 2025) is a reasonable all-in estimate including depreciation, insurance, maintenance and fuel.
Is rideshare cheaper than owning a car?
