What's the fairest way to split rent?
There's no single answer. Room size works when rooms differ a lot; income-based splits suit couples or friends with very different earnings.
What should 'shared space %' be?
Often 30–50% — the kitchen, living room and bathrooms everyone uses. The rest is split by private room size.
What about a private bathroom?
Add its area to that person's room size, or agree a fixed premium on top.
