Oven Temperature & Air Fryer Converter
Convert oven temperatures between °F, °C, fan (convection) and gas mark — and convert oven recipes to air fryer temperature and time.
How to use
- 1Enter a temperature and its unit, and the recipe's cooking time.
- 2Read the equivalent in every oven type, plus the air fryer adjustment.
How it's calculated
°C = (°F − 32) × 5⁄9. Fan/convection ovens: about 20 °C (25 °F) lower. Air fryer: reduce the temperature by about 25 °F (15 °C) and the time by about 20%, checking early.
Frequently asked questions
Why lower the temperature for fan ovens?
Circulating air transfers heat faster, so food cooks as if the oven were about 20 °C hotter.
What is gas mark 4?
About 180 °C (350 °F) — the most common baking temperature.
Do all air fryer conversions work?
They're a starting point. Air fryers vary, and large or wet foods (batters, casseroles) may not suit them. Check a few minutes early.
