Party slices ≈ 1.5 × 2 in (3 in² top area); wedding slices ≈ 1 × 2 in (2 in²) for a 4-inch-tall cake. Servings = top area ÷ slice area.
Frequently asked questions
Why are wedding slices smaller?
They're traditionally thin fingers served after a full meal — about 1 × 2 in and 4 in tall.
How big a cake for 50 people?
About 100 in² of top area for wedding slices (e.g. 6 in + 10 in tiers), or 150 in² for party slices.
Does height matter?
Yes — these figures assume a standard 4-inch-tall (two-layer) cake. Taller cakes can be cut into more servings.
