Gasoline: 8.887 kg CO₂ per gallon (EPA). Electricity: US average ≈ 0.37 kg CO₂ per kWh (EPA eGRID; varies widely by grid). Natural gas: 5.3 kg CO₂ per therm. Flights: ≈ 90 kg CO₂ per passenger-hour (rough average, excluding non-CO₂ effects).

Why does my electricity factor matter so much?
Coal-heavy grids emit over 0.8 kg/kWh while hydro or nuclear-heavy grids can be under 0.05. Your supplier's fuel mix disclosure has the real figure.

No — it covers direct energy use. Diet, goods and services add several tonnes for most people.
