Healthy Habits Score (Life's Essential 8 Quiz)

Score your heart and overall health habits from 0 to 100 using the American Heart Association's Life's Essential 8 — diet, activity, nicotine, sleep, weight, cholesterol, blood sugar and blood pressure — with what to improve first.

For general information only — not medical advice. Results are estimates; talk to a doctor or qualified health professional about your own health.

How to use

  1. 1Answer the eight questions — use recent check-up numbers if you have them.
  2. 2See your overall score and each area's score.
  3. 3Start with your lowest-scoring area for the biggest gain.

How it's calculated

Each of the 8 areas scores 0–100 using the AHA Life's Essential 8 thresholds; the overall score is their average. 80+ is high cardiovascular health, 50–79 moderate, below 50 low.

Frequently asked questions

Is this a 'biological age' test?

No — there's no reliable quiz for biological age. Instead this uses the AHA's evidence-based Life's Essential 8 score; higher scores are linked to longer life free of heart disease and other chronic conditions.

What if I don't know my cholesterol or blood sugar?

Choose 'Don't know' — those areas are left out of the average. A routine check-up can measure them.

What's a good score?

80 or more is considered high cardiovascular health. Most US adults score in the moderate range (about 65).
