Frequently asked questions

Why does expected age go up as I get older?

Because you've already survived the risks of earlier ages. A 70-year-old can expect to live past the life expectancy at birth.

Why show 2019 and 2021?

COVID-19 temporarily lowered life expectancy in 2020–2021 in many countries. 2019 shows the pre-pandemic level; most countries have since recovered towards it.

Can this predict my lifespan?

No. It's an average for everyone of your age and sex in a country. Not smoking, staying active, a healthy weight, and managing blood pressure and blood sugar can add many years.
