How do I write a check amount in words?

Write the dollars in words, then the cents as a fraction: $1,250.75 = 'One thousand two hundred fifty and 75/100 dollars'.

What's the difference between US and UK style?

UK English adds 'and' after hundreds: 'one hundred and five'. US English often omits it: 'one hundred five'.

How much is a lakh and a crore?

1 lakh = 100,000 and 1 crore = 10,000,000 (100 lakh), used in India, Pakistan, Bangladesh and Nepal.
