How it's calculated
Wall area = perimeter × height − openings (21 ft² per door, 15 ft² per window). Drywall sheets = area × (1 + waste) ÷ sheet area; about 1 screw per ft². Wallpaper rolls = area ÷ usable roll coverage.
Frequently asked questions
4×8 or 4×12 sheets?
4×12 sheets mean fewer seams (less taping) but are heavy and awkward; 4×8 is easier for one person and small rooms.
How much does a roll of wallpaper cover?
A US single roll covers about 27 ft² (about 22 ft² usable after trimming); a European roll (0.53 × 10 m) covers about 5.3 m² (57 ft²).
Why add more for patterned wallpaper?
Matching the pattern repeat wastes paper at each strip — add 10–25% depending on the repeat length.
