Frequently asked questions
Which window material is best?
Vinyl is cheapest and low-maintenance; fiberglass is stronger and more stable; wood looks best and insulates well but needs upkeep. All modern double-glazed low-E windows are far more efficient than old single-pane ones.
How much will I save on energy?
Replacing single-pane windows with ENERGY STAR windows typically saves roughly 7–15% on heating and cooling costs, depending on climate. Replacing newer double-pane windows saves much less.
Are there tax credits?
The US federal 25C efficiency credit for windows ended for windows installed after 31 December 2025. Check local utility rebates.
