How it's calculated
Card processing = order × rate + fixed fee. Third-party gateway: Shopify adds a transaction fee (e.g. 2% on Basic). Plan cost per order = monthly plan ÷ orders per month.

What are Shopify Payments fees?
On the US Basic plan, online card rates are 2.9% + 30¢; higher plans get lower rates. Rates differ by country.
Why is there an extra transaction fee?
If you use a third-party payment provider instead of Shopify Payments, Shopify charges an additional 2% (Basic), 1% or 0.6% depending on your plan.
Should I include the plan fee per order?
Yes — spreading the monthly plan across your orders shows the real cost per sale, especially for smaller stores.
