How it's calculated
Final value fee = rate × (price + shipping + sales tax). Per-order fee = $0.40 (or $0.30 if the order total is $10 or less). Optional promoted listing fee = ad rate × total.
Frequently asked questions
What is eBay's final value fee?
For most categories it's around 13–15% of the total amount of the sale, including shipping and sales tax. Some categories (like guitars, sneakers over $150 or trading cards) have different rates.
Is sales tax included in the fee?
Yes. Since 2021 eBay calculates final value fees on the total including sales tax collected from the buyer. Enter the tax if you want it included.
What about Promoted Listings?
If an ad drives the sale, the ad rate you chose (e.g. 2–10%) is charged on the total as well.
