How it's calculated
Daily hours = end − start − break (overnight shifts wrap past midnight). Overtime = weekly hours above the threshold, paid at the overtime multiplier.
Frequently asked questions
How do I enter an overnight shift?
Just enter the times, e.g. '22:00 6:00 30' — when the end is earlier than the start it's counted as the next morning.
Is overtime daily or weekly?
Federal US law uses weekly overtime over 40 hours. Some states (like California) also have daily overtime — check your local rules.
How are decimal hours calculated?
Minutes ÷ 60: 7 hours 45 minutes is 7.75 hours.
