Import Duty & Tax Calculator (US, EU, UK)

Estimate import duty and VAT/sales tax on goods you buy or ship from abroad — US (no de minimis since August 2025), EU (import VAT plus the new €3 low-value duty) and UK (£135 rule) — from value, shipping and duty rate.

Estimates only — not tax advice. Tax rules change and depend on your situation; check with the tax authority or a tax professional.

How to use

  1. 1Choose the destination and enter the goods value and shipping cost.
  2. 2Enter the duty rate for your product's HS code (from the destination's tariff database).
  3. 3See duty, import VAT and the total landed cost.

How it's calculated

EU: duty = rate × (goods + shipping), or €3 per tariff line for consignments ≤ €150 sold to consumers (from 1 July 2026); import VAT = VAT rate × (goods + shipping + duty). UK: consignments ≤ £135 have no customs duty and VAT is charged at checkout; above that, duty on the customs value then 20% VAT. US: duty (including any additional tariffs) on the goods value — the $800 de minimis exemption ended on 29 August 2025.

Frequently asked questions

Where do I find the duty rate?

Look up the product's HS code in the destination's tariff tool: the EU's TARIC, the UK Trade Tariff, or the US Harmonized Tariff Schedule (plus any Section 301/232 or reciprocal tariffs).

Who pays the import charges?

The importer — usually you as the buyer, collected by the courier before delivery (often with a handling fee), unless the seller shipped 'DDP' (delivered duty paid).

Is there still a duty-free allowance?

EU: no — since July 2026 low-value parcels pay a flat €3 per tariff line. UK: goods up to £135 have no duty. US: all commercial imports are dutiable since August 2025. Travellers' personal allowances are separate.
