How it's calculated
All-units: every unit gets the price of the tier the total quantity falls in. Graduated: units in each tier are charged that tier's price, like tax brackets.

Wholesale price breaks are usually all-units. SaaS and utility pricing often use graduated tiers so there's no sudden drop in the bill.
Why can all-units pricing make bigger orders cheaper?
Crossing a tier re-prices every unit, so 100 units at $8 ($800) can cost less than 99 units at $9 ($891).
Can I use percentage discounts?
Convert them to unit prices first — e.g. 10% off $10 = $9.
