How it's calculated
Personal allowance £12,570, reduced by £1 for every £2 over £100,000. rUK: 20% up to £37,700 of taxable income, 40% to £125,140, 45% above. Scotland: 19/20/21/42/45/48%. Savings get a £5,000 starting band and £1,000/£500 allowance; dividends a £500 allowance, then 10.75/35.75/39.35%.

Why is there a 60% tax rate?
