Box 1: 35.75% up to €38,883, 37.56% to €78,426, 49.50% above. Minus the general tax credit (max €3,115, reduced by 6.398% above €29,736) and labour tax credit (max €5,685, reduced by 6.51% above €45,592). 30% ruling: 30% of salary tax-free (on salary up to €262,000) if the taxable part meets €48,013 (€36,497 for young master's graduates).

Frequently asked questions

Is holiday allowance included?

Dutch employers pay 8% holiday allowance (vakantiegeld), usually in May. Include it in the gross figure to see the annual total.

What happens to the 30% ruling in 2027?

It drops to 27% from 2027 and the salary norms rise significantly, except for people who already used the ruling in 2023 (transitional rules).

Why is net salary so different at €50k vs €80k?

Both tax credits phase out as income rises, adding about 13% to the effective marginal rate on top of the bracket rate.
