Is a balance transfer worth the fee?
Usually, if you'd otherwise pay a high APR for more than a few months. A 3–5% fee is often less than two or three months of interest at 20%+.
What happens when the promo ends?
Any remaining balance starts accruing interest at the card's regular APR. Aim to clear it before the promo ends.
Does a transfer hurt my credit?
Applying causes a hard inquiry and a new account, which can dip your score briefly. Lower utilization and faster payoff usually help over time.
