How it's calculated
Taxable = RAL − INPS 9.19%. IRPEF: 23% up to €28,000, 33% to €50,000, 43% above (2026). Minus employee deductions (€1,955 up to €15,000, tapering to zero at €50,000) and the cuneo fiscale (tax-free bonus of 4.8–7.1% up to €20,000, or an extra €1,000 deduction from €20,000 to €32,000 tapering to €40,000). Plus regional and municipal surcharges.

What changed in 2026?
The middle IRPEF rate fell from 35% to 33% for income between €28,000 and €50,000. Very high earners (over €200,000) have some deductions cut by €440 to offset it.
13 or 14 payments?
Most contracts include a 13th month (tredicesima) in December; some sectors add a 14th in summer. The annual net is the same.
How big are the addizionali?
The regional surcharge is 1.23%–3.33% and the municipal one up to 0.8% (0.9% in Rome). 2.3% combined is a typical middle value.
