Zakat Calculator

Calculate zakat at 2.5% on cash, gold, silver, investments and business stock, checked against the gold or silver nisab using today's prices you enter.

Results are estimates for planning; real-world values vary.

How to use

  1. 1Enter the zakatable assets you've held for a lunar year, and debts due now.
  2. 2Enter today's gold or silver price per gram and choose which nisab to use.
  3. 3If your net wealth is at or above the nisab, zakat is 2.5% of it.

How it's calculated

Nisab = 87.48 g of gold or 612.36 g of silver × price per gram. If (assets − debts due) ≥ nisab, zakat = 2.5% × (assets − debts).

Frequently asked questions

Gold or silver nisab — which should I use?

Many scholars recommend the silver nisab because it's lower and so benefits more people in need; others use gold. Follow the guidance of your scholar or local mosque.

Is zakat due on jewellery I wear?

Scholars differ: the Hanafi school says yes for gold and silver jewellery, while other schools exempt jewellery in normal personal use.

Where do I find today's gold and silver prices?

Check a local bullion dealer or a financial news site for the price per gram in your currency. We don't fetch live prices.
