Frequently asked questions
Does my region change the result?
Yes. IRPF is half state and half regional, and each region sets its own scale — Madrid is lower, Catalonia and Valencia higher. This uses the standard combined scale.
12 or 14 payments?
Many Spanish contracts pay 14 times a year (two extra payments in summer and at Christmas). The annual net is the same; only the monthly amount changes.
What is the MEI?
The Intergenerational Equity Mechanism — an extra pension contribution of 0.90% in 2026, of which employees pay 0.15%.
